Easy Blackberry Mint Infused Water

Not all of us have a green thumb. But even the most black thumbed among us can grow blackberries and mint. These two plants are so hardy that they’ll thrive even with neglect. Mint plants come back bigger every year, and blackberry bushes churn out bowls of delicious fruit every day. So why not combine these two treasures to make a refreshing blackberry mint infused water?

Blackberry mint infused water is an easy and delicious way to add some flavor to your water. Infused waters are a great way to increase your water intake, and they’re a healthier alternative to sugary drinks like soda.

Benefits of Blackberry Mint Infused Water

Blackberries are a good source of antioxidants, which can help protect your cells from damage. Mint is also a good source of antioxidants, and it has a refreshing taste that pairs well with blackberries. Blackberry infused water will provide high levels of vitamins C, A, E, K, and D. This low-calorie fruit includes cancer-fighting properties and can help:

  • Keep your skin healthy.

Mint also has a lot of health benefits. Mint aids in digestion, can calm nausea and headaches, clears breathing issues, serves as a stimulant, aids in memory loss, may help increase weight loss, is excellent for oral health, and offers cancer-fighting properties.

Blackberry Mint Infused Water Recipe

You will need:

  • 1 small handful of blackberries
  • 5-6 mint leaves
  • Ice
  • Water

Directions:

  • Add the blackberries to a mason jar.
  • Muddle them slightly by gently moving them around the jar with a straw or spoon.
  • Muddle the mint leaves by rubbing them between your thumb and first finger.
  • Add the mint leaves to the mason jar.
  • Fill the mason jar with chilled water from your cooler or filter.
  • Cover the jar and place in the fridge for at least two hours*.

*Two hours is the minimum steep time that I would recommend; it is preferable to let the infusion sit overnight.
